How to reach us by car
From the A5 Autobahn, Karlsruhe to Basel, take the Freiburg-North ("Nord") Exit; keep in the left lane and take Highway B294 in the direction of Freiburg. Soon after B 294 runs into Highway B 3 on the right in the direction of Freiburg, take the Exit "Industriegebiet Nord". At the traffic light, go through the large intersection and make a half-left turn into Hans-Bunte-Street ("Hans-Bunte-Straße"). Turn at the fourth street going off on the left, Stübeweg, just after crossing the railroad spurs serving the local industries. After turning, you will cross the tracks again and continue about 50 meters; then you will see the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics on your right.
Coming from Freiburg, take streets north out of town, e.g. on the B3 highway to Tulla Street ("Tulla-Straße"); continue about 1 kilometer west from the B3 to the traffic circle (roundabout) – the only one nearby – and leave it heading north. Continue 200 meters to Stübeweg and turn left. After 100 meters you will see the Institute on your left. At the circle and again at Stübeweg there are small white signs for the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics.

How to reach us by public transport
Directions from the main train station Freiburg:
At the south end of the train (VAG Freiburg) platforms you use the stairs of the bridge to go upstairs and to reach the tram station. Take either tram no. 1 (direction Littenweiler), 3 (direction Vauban) or 5 (direction Rieselfeld) until "Bertoldsbrunnen" (2 stops). Then change to tram no. 2 (direction Zähringen) until “Tullastraße” (6 stops from “Bertoldsbrunnen”). Here you get off, and walk along the "Tullastraße" until "Zinkmattenstraße" (roundabout) turn right and follow this street until "Stübeweg" to your left, and you will reach the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics after about 200m on your left hand side. (a 15-20 min walk).
Alternatively, you can use busses 7200/7206 from the ZOB (central bus station), which is on the right hand side if you exit the train station via the main entrance/exit. Take the bus until the bus stop "Stübeweg" (approx. 14min ride). After you leave the bus, Stübeweg is on the right. When you walk along Stübeweg the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics is on the right hand side after about 200 m.

How to reach us by airplane
Arrive at the Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg Airport. Take the Airport Bus to Freiburg www.freiburger-reisedienst.de. Once in Freiburg, follow the instructions for travel by train.
Alternatively, arrive at the Frankfurt/Main Airport and take the train (Deutsche Bundesbahn) in the basement of the airport to Freiburg (travel time ca 2 hrs.). See the Electronic Timetable for departure times and use "Frankfurt/Airport" and "Freiburg" as stations. Tickets may be purchased in the Rail Office on the ground floor of the airport near the stairs to the trains or directly on the Deutsche Bahn website.
